  today, god does not speak to his servants directly as he did to job.

  spoke directly to job but now through organization.

  more logically, jehovah would speak directly; his perfect son, and even imperfect humans nearby, heard gods own voice.

  I agree with BluesBrother that the whole purpose of this article is to warn followers against apostates, which move, IMO, will result in stirring the curiosity of those who want to know more about what the WTS doesn't want them to know. The thing is that those ones are curious enough already, so that they don't need the WTS 's warning to go foraging into the society's past deeds . As for the noncurious ones, WTS's efforts to put them on guard against apostates are useless, they won't inquire anyway. They are the real assets of the WTS to survive. I know first hand, there are quite a few of those among my wife's JW relatives.

  few of my threads get to 3 pages of responses and i suspect that i am the one who pushes it by responding to everyone.

  who posts.. but i know people read my posts.. there have certainly been times when i needed the support and got it.

  but those times are fewer now.. sometimes i feel like i am repeating myself and i probably am.

  Lady Lee,

  OF course you are very much valued on JWN. Your best of is of prime importance to those who arrive on this board, as the latter is, let's say, less heavy on fundamentals. Your best of helps newbies to be aware of such important past contributions as AlanF's, Leolaia's and so many others'. I also appreciated your recent advice about how to respond to a DFing threat, in case one doesn't want to be DFed (in fact, I wonder whether in my case DAing wouln't be the most satisfying morally and intellectually honest clear cut exit, I am on this point very much in agreement with the spirit of Narkissos' recent post).

  Thanks again for being on here, but if life is calling you to other horizons, don't miss them.

  i'm reading the trial, by franz kafka.

  pretty interesting read so far, though i'm only about 90 pages into it.

  it's about a man who is arrested, but no one will tell him what he's been charged with, or give him any information at all.

  I found yesterday evening in a second hand book shop an old collection of François VILLON poems, printed in the near original 15th century French language. Quite a headhache, but I also found that the preface, which was written no sooner than 1928, looks slightly outdated in style. Incredible how languages evolve within a few decades, and not for the better I'm afraid.

  thank simon not god...started to say thank god....trying to avoid that like saying "in the truth"...."worldy"....those two are hard to break........but still.....giving up on what was a good marriage is a bitch....and i am not done yet....some of my now close jwd friends had mates that came out pretty fast.......some not.......i am of the not variety.

  the one in thing one out is such a tightrope to walk and it takes a toll on both partners.

  i think she would be so much happier without me...but she really loves me deeply.....unfortunately she also has the false hope her prayers will be answered and i will serve jah again........damm this is tough......thanks all...esp st. ann...i called you today, but no answer...did not leave message.

  Oompa, I hardly understand what you wrote, but one thing : your wife loves you a lot. So, if you reciprocate, do your utmost to keep her. Explain to her that you two must not let a religion drive a wedge between you and that a religion which would be totalitarian enough to split a household will have to be looked upon with suspicion.

  Plane that just crashed off Rio coast A 330 has a bad history! Beware!

  30 june 1994 a test fight of the airbus a.

  330 simulating an engine failure and crashed and killed all 7 crew on board.. australia 7th oct 2008. perth australia airbus a.

  330 plane suddenly due to "electrical faults" pitched downwards toward the ground for awhile....many injured, but control was restored and it landed safely.

  It's imperative that they find the black box. Otherwise, another accident and A 330 will go the way of DC 10, remember the plane that would lose its doors while in flight.

  Thanks, Blondie, I used to draw ideas from your weekly thread to give comments at the WT meeting, it will now be for my own use when I talk privately to JWs, since I gave up meetings for good last week.

  In addition, think of the expenditure to publish this magazine in 172 languages many of which are spoken by people who are relatively poor.
  Consider too, the fact that this journal is made available in various sign languages used by the deaf, as well as in Braille for the blind.

  They used to start their call-for-funds campain later in the year, they are now quite graphic as soon as may. Must be desperate for fresh cash, somehow. They should be advised to sell another building to replenish.

  1 year sober today...it can be done!

  just wanted to post here to say i am now 1 year sober.

  funny thing is i don't miss drink at all, it took a 3 or 4 months of hard work about 18 months ago and have not looked back since.. this is my first thread about the aa, posted january 2008.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/150354/1/went-to-aa-meeting-last-night.

  i would encourage anyone who thinks they may have a problem to get help, it is out there.. since i have become sober i am now doing a law degree, took up scuba diving, got my kids involved in snorkelling, scuba, horse riding and shooting.
